The songs on the final vinyl single credited to Fivepenny Piece are two original compositions. The first 'The Christmas Story' is written by Trevor Chance and Colin Radcliffe (original title 'Stranger In The City'). The B-Side 'Christmas Spirit' is written by the band collectively. This single featured the last recordings of Lynda Meeks with the group. Lynda left the group in early 1983. Both songs were performed on the 1981 BBC2 Christmas special.
