The Fivepenny's third
album showed their increased confidence in writing and
recording artistes and featured two songs about
Stalybridge! 'Down Our Street' is another staple of the
Fivepenny repertoire which became a long time favourite with
fans. Samuel Laycock's 'Bowton's Yard' is given a lovely
arrangement by Eddie Crotty whilst the (uncredited) honky tonk
piano intro to 'Pete Is A Lonely Mongrel Dog Who Lived In
Central Wigan' lends the album a bit of musical hall fun.
